The Sharon School Library Program Mission is to teach 21st Century information literacy skills while being fully integrated into and supportive of the district curriculum. Library teachers draw from the Common Core Curriculum Standards, and the AASL National School Library Standards, and the Massachusetts Digital Literacy and Computer Science (DLCS) framework.

Students have time to borrow books at the end of each library lesson. They may choose from a selection of books the library brings to their classroom, or they may place holds on books in the library catalog.
Classes and small groups may also visit the library other times throughout the week. The school library is a place for collaboration. Classroom teachers and the library staff often work together on projects that complement curriculum and Common Core State Standards.
Classes come to the library for 40 minutes each week to hear stories, research, evaluate information, communicate ideas, discuss books, develop digital citizenship skills, follow where their curiosity leads, and MUCH more.
